STUDENTS' WORK I have been teaching mosaics classes in New England for several years now and decided to showcase some of my students' work on my web site. My apologies, I have been remiss in updating this page!

Class at Worcester Art Museum, 2 day basic workshop, October 3, 4.

A week long class at Snow Farm, these students were amazing!

Snow Farm 3-day workshop, minus 2 students and their work. We had some lively conversations in this group...

A 2-day Buckland Studio Workshop, Cael, one of my dogs joined the photo op.

Bright colors and ebullient designs characterize these youngsters' mosaics at Ashfield Arts camp, 2009

Another group of mosaics from my a Buckland studio workshop in June, 2009.

Another terrific group, this time a class in backsplashes and tabletops at the Worcester Art Museum.

These wonderful mosaics came out of a recent Brookfield Craft Center class on tabletops and backsplashes. The variety in the group was inspiring, and each student worked in a very personal and distinct style. I was impressed!!!!

This is a mosaic made by Ngoc, our friend from Viet Nam. It is very striking for its originality and sense of balance.

Snow Farm, 2007 Elderhostel week, work ranged from a lazy susan to flower pots to wall panels. Once again, a great group of people.

Wonderfully decorated shoes, done by a student in a workshop in my studio.

I started teaching at Brookfield Craft Center in Connecticut in 2007. The class is a weekend workshop where we do one 10" x 10" indirect project and a direct method switch plate cover (while the thinset is setting!) I have yet to remember my camera, so only have these few samples of work. I have helped create some mosaic zealots!!!! The 'Lovedoves' on the left was done by a student that has really embraced the medium. This is her 5th or 6th piece since she took the class back in January.

Artspace October 2006 5 week class, indirect method vitreous glass

September, 2006 class in my studio, indirect method, vitreous glass. What a fun group!

Snow Farm, High School program 2 day workshop, direct and indirect method, July, 2006

Ashfield Summer Theater/Arts camp, July 2006. Some terrific art was produced!

Snow Farm, Willliamsburg, MA, April 24-28, 2006 class with their beautiful creations. I am always impressed by the quality of work possible with a first time attempt at mosaics!

A weekend workshop at Artspace in Greenfield, MA in February, 2006. Projects ranged from a sunflower on a flower pot to a spiral tabletop design to a 'memory' frame to take to a college dorm

Some of participants in October, 2005 class. All panels done in the indirect method.

Ashfield Summer Theater Camp mosaic workshop, kids are proudly displaying their mirror projects, July, 2005.

Snow Farm, Williamsburg, MA, May, 2005 elderhostel mosaic workshop. Eliza (on the left) made these 4 mosaic projects (center, above) in 5 days in addition to the panel she is cleaning with muriatic acid. Go Eliza!! Laurie made the wonderful tabletop she is holding up and a small mirror.

I helped a little bit with this mosaic mural project, translating the sketch from a thumbnail to the full sized cartoon. This was part of Earth Day, 2005 at Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, MA. My good friend Sally Spencer coordinated the efforts with students coming to her house for work bees.
