MOSAIC RESIDENCY, WEST BOYLSTON, MA Students at Major Edwards School in West Boylston, MA worked on assembling this beautiful mosaic mural in February of 2008. Kindergarten through grade 5 made drawings of buildings and familiar sites around town. This assignment was made easier by high school students who took photographs of many of the town's landmarks, including the Beaman Library and Old Stone Church. I selected these drawings, arranged them into the mural, and then the whole school participated in laying the mosaic tile. Everyone had a great time, myself included. Special thanks to Sarah O'Connor, the parent responsible for all aspects of coordinating the project, and her dad, for the beautiful oak frame he constructed.
